When I was a kid, I hated living in a small town. It felt confining, boring, and was the very last place I wanted to be… until I had kids.
The very things I railed against as a teen are now the things I treasure most. I love that we are the kind of close knit community where everyone is connected to everyone. We not only know our neighbors, but also our town officials and business owners on a first name basis.
I supposed that’s why it shouldn’t surprise me when we show up in force to support each other. However, the truth is, it still overwhelms me every single time.
Today’s mind blowing generosity was orchestrated by one of my favorite high school teachers who has been quietly supporting the pantry since we first opened over 4 years ago. That teacher (whose name I won’t mention per her request) was the first person who told me to dream bigger and aim higher than my current aspirations. I’m actually not sure the pantry would have happened without that subtle shift in trajectory.
Now we have arrived at what feels like a full circle moment to find the entire board of Seymour Pink arriving to deliver multiple carloads of nonperishables and over $940 in cash donations to help support the effort of feeding anyone in need 24/7.
Over and over our community has proven we know how to support and look out for each other, but it still doesn’t ever get old to see.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to Seymour Pink, our entire community, and especially our educators, who truly never stop being our champions. We love and appreciate you. ❤️🫶🏻
With Gratitude,
Jenny
