Today was a hive inspection day!
We didn’t do a full inspection because the breeze was a bit chilly, but we did check to make sure the bees had enough food stores.
Three out of our four hives were nice and heavy, which means plenty of food. The other was on the light side, so we added a gallon feeder to fill them up on sugar water. Our remaining split had five full frames of bees and also got more sugar water.
The frame below is from our swarm who are already producing honey in their first season. 🙌🏻
In other exciting news, your steward finally invested in a ventilated bee suit so she won’t be overheating during summer inspections!
