A Little Story

Hello Community!
Today we would like to share a little story with you. You may have noticed we haven’t been on social media quite as much recently. That is because, like many of our neighbors, we have been under siege with what feels like every germ on the planet. We have all been quite sick and exhausted more often than not, so we haven’t kept up with much beyond the nonnegotiables.
And that is part of what makes this story a little more remarkable and impactful. You see this time last week, your steward was in bed with one of our little stewards who just happened to be having an exceptionally hard day. They were both exhausted and the same events that made the day so challenging also made it near impossible for your steward to get out to fill the pantry. In almost 5 years, this has almost never happened, especially not without planning.
So your steward did what she often does when she notices the pantry needs supplies. She asked the universe for help. She said, “I don’t have the capacity to handle this right now. Can you please take it?” and then she released the outcome knowing it was out of her hands.
And do you know what happened next?
Your steward received a message from a neighbor she’s never met who said she was an educator at O’Brien Tech and had collected approximately 100 donations for the pantry which she planned to drop off in an hour. This educator had no knowledge of the silent prayer or how divinely perfect her timing was.
And this is how things have unfolded over and over again at the pantry. Someone needs something and then it just shows up. OR someone will donate everything needed for a Thanksgiving meal except the turkey and within hours another person reaches out to donate a turkey. It happens so often that we should be used to it, but it still feels like a miracle every time.
So much about the world feels hard right now AND there are still lots of wonderful humans showing up for strangers. There are big and small miracles all around us, especially when we are open to receiving them.
We hope what ever silent prayer your heart makes today is answered.
We love you and are here for you. ❤️🫶🏻
